BUDDY - Nine year old Buddy came to us from a Long Island shelter. He is in URGENT need of bilateral TECA (total ear canal ablation in both ears) surgery ASAP. He has a resistant ear infection in both ears. His ears are inflamed, calcified and stenotic. Numerous attempts were made to treat his ears with a compounded medication but were unsuccessful. There is no way to get medication deep in his ear canals to eradicate the infection. Time is of the essence to rid his ears of this raging infection and stop all pain and suffering to our very sweet and loving Buddy.
BELLA - Seven year old "Bella the Beagle" joined AACSR when her owner determined that she was no longer useful as a hunting dog. Bella had Lyme disease when we rescued her and was treated successfully with antibiotics. However, this poor girl was not spayed and has several mammary tumors which need to be removed and biopsied. She also has severe dental disease. The real heart-wrenching surprise to us was that on her chest x-ray, Bella’s body has many bb pellets in it but there is nothing that can be done about it. Bella is VERY friendly and loving despite what she has been through. Her foster dad takes her to a school to visit children with disabilities and they all adore her!
ZULY - Our sweet senior Zuly came to us from the Manhattan shelter several weeks ago. She just recovered from an upper respiratory infection. Zuly has severe dental disease and she is in urgent need of a senior dentistry with many extractions. Her mouth is painful and she is unable to eat properly and is losing weight.
SHADOW - Our handsome senior Shadow was examined recently by our vet and a senior dentistry is recommended as the last necessary treatment to ready him for adoption.
